Role Summary/Purpose: | The Project Engineer will design equipment data sheets, machinery and measurement and control systems for chemical plants (thermal units) based on data collected in previous experiences and plant operations of similar industrial plant or through the result of pilot tests. |
Essential Responsibilities: |
- Work closely with the Project Management, Engineering and Commercial teams developing solutions to waste water treatment involving evaporator and crystallizer technologies at the proposal and project start up phases (including travel to job site).
- Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements. This includes the sizing of industrial evaporators and crystallizers for chemical and waste-water applications, the development of Process Flow Diagrams (PFD) and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID). In addition shall develop the associated heat and material balance.
- Prepare the process Equipment and machinery data sheets and collect information for the execution of process Instrument data sheets.
- Coordinate equipment procurement, checking the Supplier documentation, collecting specialists comments and revert to Supplier.
- Analyze operating procedures and equipment and machinery functions to reduce processing time and cost.
- Determine most effective arrangement of unit operations exercising judgment to compromise between process requirements, economic evaluation, operator effectiveness, and physical and health hazards.
- Perform tests and take measurements throughout stages of production to determine degree of control over variables such as temperature, density, specific gravity, and pressure.
- Study the plant process and supervise the erection and commissioning activity.
- Lead training (in classroom & on site) with Customer staff.
- In partnership with the Thermal Engineering Leader, ensuring consistency of tools and processes utilized within Thermal Products.
- Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.

Qualifications/Requirements: |
- The ideal candidate will be have a degree in chemical, mechanical, civil or environmental engineering, or equivalent, in addition to a minimum of 3 years experience with evaporator and crystallizer applications is also required.
- Previous field experience in the industrial ZLD waste-water industry will be considered a pre-requisite.
