Role Summary/Purpose: The PGS Performance Engineering Application Engineer has functional responsibility for assigned engineering work. This position involves configuration of software analytics for GE Power & Water thermal performance monitoring systems and fleet support studies for Gas Turbine and Combined Cycle plants. These studies will often involve working in a cross functional team environment.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Conduct thermal performance evaluations for both Gas Turbine and Combined Cycle plants

- Use GateCycleTM software to configure thermal models to support the requisition of GE suite of thermal performance monitoring systems and big data initiatives

- Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments related to fleet performance

- Executes the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements

- Promote and contribute to business programs (cost reduction, continuous improvement, workout, business teams, etc.)

- Occasional domestic & international travel to customer locations in support of thermal software analytic requisitions

- Promote and contribute to business programs (simplification, continuous improvement, LEAN workout, etc.)
Qualifications/Requirements:


- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Chemical Engineering

- Demonstrated ability to meet goals and objectives

- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral

- Candidate should have experience that would demonstrate technical knowledge and understanding of Gas Turbine, Combined Cycle and Steam Turbine Thermodynamics

- Experience in a cross functional environment

- Experience working with customers

- Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering

- Green Belt certified (GE Employees only)

- Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems

- Strong oral and written communication skills

- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

- Experience working with field data and information

- Working knowledge of Matlab, Simulink
