| Role Summary/Purpose: | The successful candidate will be part of the Wind Material Engineering global team supporting inspection & qualification of non-destructive testing and weld process assessments at wind turbine component suppliers. Though the position is based out of Bangalore, frequent travel to vendor sites is involved to support on supplier qualification NDT/welding audits. |
| Essential Responsibilities: | Lead Engineer – NDT & Welding, Wind Material Engineering shall need to technically contribute in following responsibilities: - Independently perform NDT (UT and welding ) audits at supplier site to qualify suppliers and evaluate the quality - Experience in defining NDT (UT & welding) requirements for the wind turbine components - Leverage prior experience and technical expertise to solve supplier quality and field issues - Experience in working in matrix organization, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive decisions on supplier quality - Provide technical guidance to suppliers and field service engineers on NDT and weld quality - Actively assess and introduce new technologies for enabling low cost portable NDT techniques for field inspection of parts - Implement lessons learnt from fleet issues, supplier quality issues through NDT techniques and weld quality checks - Ensure proper documentation of technical data generated for programs - Knowledge on ISO quality management process requirements |
| Qualifications/Requirements: | - Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Engineering/Science in Metallurgy or Materials or any related technical field - Required to have a minimum of Level 2 NDT certification in Ultrasonic and Welding, from a globally recognized institution - Minimum of 2 years of experience working on NDT (UT and welding) technologies - Required to travel 15% of the time, both locally and internationally |
