Role Summary/Purpose: The successful candidate will provide design, analysis and hardware support on wind blade, nacelle, spinner components for NPI and customer fulfillment engineering priorities for multi-megawatt wind turbine product platforms.
Essential Responsibilities: Lead Engineer – Wind Blades Nacelle Spinner COE will be part of the GE P&W Renewables Engineering COE, located at Bangalore Engineering Center, JFWTC, Bangalore.
- Execute on blade design deliverables for Uprate NPIs, assess conceptual designs for product cost-out, new materials, design robustness strategies.
- Support in resolving supplier deviation requests (SDR) and field issues (PAC) collaborating with cross-functional teams from systems engineering, material process, advanced manufacturing engineering, sourcing, supplier quality, logistics teams.
- Execute assigned responsibilities with on-time delivery and first-time right quality.
- Implement lessons learnt from fleet issues, supplier quality issues into new designs focusing on design robustness & CTQ/CTP
- Support blade, nacelle, spinner supplier qualifications interacting with suppliers, sourcing and blade test centers
- Support full-blade validation testing working with global blade test centers
- Lead component level certifications as per IEC 61400-1 requirements interacting with TUeV NORD and other certification bodies.
- Ensure proper documentation of technical data generated for programs
Qualifications/Requirements: - Master's/Bachelor's engineering degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Structural engineering from an accredited university or college
- Minimum of 5 years of Engineering experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience designing composite structures

Desired Characteristics: - Passionate about conceptualizing and developing best-in-class wind turbine composite components - Expertise in composite structures design and analysis, preferably wind blades - Experience in component hardware ownership responsibilities - Experience in NPI deliverables, CDR to DVR including supplier qualification and component testing - Experience in delivering results in a matrix organization - Ability to seek guidance & collaborate with technical leaders and controlled title holders - Ability to learn quickly and deliver on engineering priorities - Ability to prioritize tasks & deliverables with on-time delivery and first-time right quality - Ability to communicate and influence global counterparts - Certified six sigma green belt (applicable for GE internal candidates) - Strong oral and written communication skills - Strong interpersonal & leadership skills
