Role Summary/Purpose: Our team of Engineers support the current operation and maintenance of Aeroderivative gas turbines & Jenbacher/Waukesha Gas engines, as well as Accessory systems & controls. The scope includes engine related equipment from the time equipment is installed until it is decommissioned in partnership with Services teams.. Product Service Engineers are focal points for technical issue resolution for our customers & internal stakeholders, and will be responsible for upholding GE's product integrity
Essential Responsibilities: -demonstrate local technical ownership for gas engines fleet and respond to internal/external customer requests for technical issue resolutions, using product knowledge and analytical skills
-Identify customer issue, and work with H/Q Engineering team for long and short term corrective/preventive action
-support technical meetings in region with customers and Business partners to address critical technical issues as well as to quantify commercial exposure
-Quantify and predict business technical risk in the regional fleet in order to meet business cost of quality targets
-Lead, manage and monitor the execution of short and long term countermeasures with DP service team or Business partners
- Support services, quality and warranty teams in auditing activities
-Monitor industry and technology trends as well as new regulatory requirements that may need developing new solutions
-Partner with Design CoE on strategies for new product and improvement programs based on fleet data and customer feedback
-Create customer solutions for non Standard Applications with gas engines
-Work together with Commercial Operations on tender documents and is responsible for the technical part
-Is together with the requisition engineer responsible for the conceptual and detailed design in challenging projects
-Assures design execution excellence and compliance with local codes and standards, be point of contact for the Sales organization
-Develop customer support strategy and support regional/global requests
Qualifications/Requirements: -BS degree or above in a technical discipline (Mechanical)
-Minimum of 4+ years’ experience on Reciprocating Engine designing, operation, maintenance, or equivalent
-Functional knowledge of Reciprocating engine design, structure & operation
-Demonstrated ability to represent GE in customer interactions & communication
-Proven skills to work with a global cross-functional team
-Off-Hour availability for international conference call and frequent travel time
-Proven record of responsiveness in offering disposition to various stakeholders (regional/global) including customer, service directors, channel partners
-Willing to work off hours and weekends to support emergency issue resolution
-Fluency in English, ability to communicate with local customers & suppliers
-Knowledge of Codes and Standards applicable to Gas Engines

Desired Characteristics: -Commercial sensitivity with a focus on power generation industry customer needs -Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems -Self-starter, ability to work in remote environment with regional/global teams; demonstrated interpersonal skills -Strong verbal and written communication skills -proven troubleshooting skills -Experience working with analyzing field data and information, controls/electrical domain -Green Belt or Black Belt certified (GE Employees Only)
