Role Summary/Purpose: The Mechanical Engineer will work on design and development of GE Gas Turbine (GT) & Steam Turbine (ST) accessory systems like fuel system (Gas and Liquid), Oil system, Atomizing air, Cooling water, Fire protection, Heating and Ventilation, On-base piping, Cooling and Sealing air, Air extraction systems etc. In this role you will work within defined parameters to make decisions, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning.
Essential Responsibilities: Essential Responsibilities

  • Understand the GE GT/ST components and develop mechanical designs.
  • Design skids and mechanical systems for GT/ST accessories.
  • Generate project documentation including equipment and piping arrangement drawings, skid and platform layouts, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), Schematics and Datasheets.
  • Research and analyze data such as customer design proposal, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application.
  • Support and coordinate with interfacing organizations such as manufacturing, sourcing, services, global engineering, advanced technologies and systems engineering.
  • Coordinate with vendors to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design and customer specifications.
  • Document design work clearly and meticulously.
  • Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 3 to 4 Years of experience in system, component design, process piping for power plant/ chemical plants.
  • Excellent written and oral communication.
  • Ability to work in teams and achieve targets.
  • Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
    Desired Characteristics:
  • Basic knowledge on Power plant components and its functioning.
  • Gas turbine / Steam Turbine accessories knowledge.
  • Knowledge on codes and standards (like ASME, API)
  • Knowledge of stress analysis and piping layout.
  • Strong problem solving skills preferred
  • Ability to generate ideas to simplify systems
  • Detail-oriented
  • Ability to write specifications, procedures, and manuals that conform to prescribed style and format.
  • Ability to effectively present information to project and functional management and to customers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Ability to synthesize information from different engineering disciplines.
  • Green belt certified (GE employees only)
