Role Summary/Purpose: The Solar Account Manager will lead the solar sales efforts and work cooperatively with the GE Solar sales team to achieve sales goals for the business. In this role, you will lead and define customer strategies, create simple yet effective customer solutions, build customer relationships to maximize sales, and coordinate with support organizations as necessary.
Essential Responsibilities: In addition you will:


  • Originate turnkey solar solutions for commercial and industrial customers
  • Provide direct Sales and account management for defined key customers in assigned territories selling solar turnkey solutions, solar Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), and solar leases
  • Be responsible for Financial objectives that will be quarterly based on: Orders/Sales Growth and Profitability
  • Complete strategic objectives that include; Increased market penetration, development of sales literature and tools; Competitive information and strategic recommendations, Customer satisfaction, and GE cross business interactions
  • Grow revenues by identifying additional business opportunities
  • Manage the Inquiry to Order (ITO) process with customers and be accountable for order pricing / profitability, risk, terms and condition, services, and customer satisfaction
  • Participate / Present at Industry Events and Seminars to solve customer energy problems and promote GE Solar
  • Integrate activities with GE Solar team as well as other GE businesses to leverage full sales and services capabilities
  • Drive customer engagement from initial meetings, conceptual pitches to firm contracts, and contract signatures championing the GE Solar business and the responsibilities of the GE brand
  • Target turnkey development and customer sited PV projects greater than 300kw (per) with 20%+ contribution margin at completion
  • Develop influential relationships with target customers / suppliers at all levels, understand decision-making processes, and develop strategies to win profitable business from those customers
  • Maintain knowledge of solar market trends, customer requirements, competitor actions, and customer base
  • Work with Global Sales Director and Business Leader to develop new products and services for business growth
  • Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree from accredited College or University
  • Minimum of 5 year experience associated with solar or other power generation products in sales, application engineering and/or marketing

  • Strong understanding of accounting, corporate finance, project finance, debt structures, equity financing, tax equity financing, and construction debt
  • Demonstrated accomplishments in customer-focused problem solving
  • Self-directed, highly detail-oriented, organized, and flexible
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to energize teams through inclusiveness and connection with people
  • Accomplishments that reflect leadership, teamwork, integrity, and accountability
  • Proven experience in new product introduction and market development
  • Strong understanding of solar market and technology
  • Sales / Commercial experience with a solid track record
  • Able to discuss complex technology in a clear and concise manner with a variety of audiences
  • Consistent track record of meeting performance objectives
