Role Summary/Purpose: | As a Principal Engineer in CFD, Reacting flow and unsteady combustion, you will have primary responsibility for strategic execution and leading development projects in the field of NPI design, Field Issues and physics based modeling for all of GE P&W Combustion System. You will serve as an expert in this area, working to develop new products and services for the next generation of Combustors |
Essential Responsibilities: | Drive development of Aero, Dynamics and Heat Transfer modeling/Design technologies required for Gas Turbine Combustion System. Identify, develop, evaluate and introduce engineering solutions to meet near term and long range engineering needs Provide directions for the team to work on next generation technologies on aero, heat transfer, aerothermal and dynamics predictions and design. Enable the team in field commissioning activities Lead and provide key technical direction to large projects with critical business impact Be the organization's spokesperson on all matters in area of technical expertise related to combustion technologies. Recognize the technology landscape, identify and help close technology skill gaps Prepare invention disclosures to protect technology that gives the business a competitive advantage, as well as protecting the intellectual property rights of the company. Provide technical guidance, direction and training to new and experienced engineers, edisons and interns. Build technology collaborations with universities and national labs Drive collaboration with other labs within JFWTC on adjacent technologies Generate and protect IP for the company in Combustion technologies |
Qualifications/Requirements: | Masters in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and 10+ years of relevant experience in Combustion design. Demonstrated ability to lead and deliver on large design projects with multiple team members. Demonstrated ability to make sound technical decisions independently and pull together research plan. Exceptional passion for combustion technology. Domain expertise in Combustion dynamics, aerothermal design, field commissioning and design Hands-on Industrial/Research experience in engineering tools for combustion modeling. |
