Role Summary/Purpose: The Engineering Technical Leader will lead projects and initiatives with broad scope and high impact to the business regarding nozzle and shroud repair quality, cost, and cycle. In this role you will be responsible for major and complex assignments with long-term business implications, manage complex issues within functional area(s) of expertise, and contribute to the overall business strategy.
Essential Responsibilities: In this role, you will:


  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship for a team of engineers for all aspects of inspection & repair process
  • Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements
  • Assure all component/process designs meet requirements
  • Support and coordinate with interfacing organizations such as manufacturing, sourcing, services, global engineering, and systems engineering
  • Support service programs, fulfillment, and New Product Introduction (NPI)
  • Provide strong guidance and contribution to DMP and design to cost projects
  • Communicate progress to all levels of the organization
  • Mentor and develop less experienced personnel
  • Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Materials Engineering from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum 5 years engineering experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with and/or supporting a manufacturing environment

    Eligibility Requirements:

  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 15% of the time, both domestically and internationally
  • Additional Eligibility Qualifications: GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.
    Desired Characteristics:
  • Master's Degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college
  • Experience in Gas Turbine Nozzle and shroud manufacture, design or repair
  • Six Sigma training or equivalent quality training
  • Strong mechanical design and analytical background
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes
  • Ability to drive projects to completion
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization and external customers
