Role Summary/Purpose: The Engineer – Gas Turbine Fluid Systems Instrumentation will serve as the engineering owner within the team for assigned systems and associated components. These systems and components will be assigned based on expertise and may include thermocouples, sensors, pressure transducers, solenoids, transmitters, lighting, switches, motors, heaters, transformers, relays, etc. as found in industrial power plants.
Essential Responsibilities: In addition, you will:


  • Create and apply system and equipment designs that meet safety, reliability, performance, maintainability, regulatory compliance (NEC, CSA, IEC, ATEX, EMC, etc.), and cost objectives based on customer and project requirements and GE standard designs
  • Prepare detailed product specifications and ordering drawings based on customer and project requirements and GE standard designs
  • Maintain standards by continuously improving existing product standard designs with respect to quality, safety, reliability, performance, maintainability, and cost
  • Provide Engineering input to drafting team members to support creation of design drawings, bills of material (“BOM”s) and other design documentation. Review and approve completed design drawings and BOMs prior to issuance
  • Contribute actively to the continuous improvement of documented engineering processes and design practices and to the creation of new processes and design practices
  • Drive effective solutions for emergent issues, with appropriate sense of urgency
  • Ensure timely completion of engineering activities within schedule objectives that meet internal and customer needs
  • Conduct root cause analysis and identify and execute corrective action for reliability, quality or performance issues in existing designs. Drive resolution of such issues with appropriate sense of urgency
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Sourcing, and outside suppliers to drive product quality improvements, reduce costs, and to address technical issues with potential to impact delivery of equipment to our customers
  • Prepare vendor / component qualification requirements and specify / manage test plan for component validation
  • Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Biosystems Engineering, or related engineering discipline with significant exposure to Electrical Concepts from an accredited College or University
