This team develop & implement advanced control algorithms to improve the performance, operability, and reliability of gas turbine, steam turbine & other simple / combined cycle power plant products. This internship position is with Controls Programs team. |
| Essential Responsibilities: | Controls Programs team primarily develop & implement advanced control algorithms to improve the performance, operability, and reliability of GE gas turbines.The internship candidate must have thorough understanding of control loops & passion to explore & implement advanced control techniques. This internship assignment would include: - Exploring & understanding Gas Turbine Control Loops. - Perform stability analysis and develop adaptive learning/control techniques. The candidate is required to present his/her progress on assigned analysis & development work & learning regularly to the group on his/her progress. He/she is also required to document the work done during the internship assignment. |
| Qualifications/Requirements: | - Candidate pursuing Master's Degree in Engineering (Controls, Instrumentation, Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical or Chemical). - Self-starter with ability to work individually and in teams. - Demonstrated ability to meet goals and objectives. |

| Desired Characteristics: | - Understanding of gas turbine, steam turbine, or combined-cycle power plant controls and auxiliary systems. - Controls domain knowledge in Model Based / Model Predictive Controls or other advanced controls strategies. - Working knowledge of dynamic simulation packages such as Matlab/Simulink, Dynsim, HYSIS or ASPEN. - Solid track record of engineering accomplishments. - Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. - Strong Oral and written communication skills. |
