Role Summary/Purpose: The Energy Storage Systems Lead Supplier Quality Engineer will collaborate with Engineering, Project Management, Field Services, and the P&W / Renewables Sourcing Team on all activities required to effectively manage supplier quality requirements & supplier development across Energy Storage Systems equipment.
Essential Responsibilities: As the Energy Storage Systems Lead Supplier Quality Engineer, you will:


  • Be the focal point for supplier quality related activities and process control for the supplier base supporting the MSD segment of the Power & Water Business
  • Coordinate, direct, and manage supplier quality activities for Customer Sites globally with focus on issue resolution, supplier approval, supplier qualification, process control, and quality assurance consistent with Global Sourcing quality initiatives
  • Improve quality assurance and drive consistency and adherence to quality procedures and requirements consistent with GE Power & Water Global Sourcing quality processes and procedures
  • Drive continuous improvement of supplier's quality performance through Six Sigma and Lean Six Sigma principles and methodology
  • Monitor and drive for Cost of Failure / Quality (COF / COQ) reduction
  • Manage supplier recovery by working with Sourcing Commercial team and supplier to recover all costs associated with rejects / defects
  • Monitor supplier nonconformance performance, and identify and drive process improvement, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation
  • Establish programs to monitor and improve supplier process capabilities for CTQs
  • Drive NPI projects at suppliers through Qualifications and Process capability studies
  • Be a technical focal point for supplier activities directed toward process control and quality assurance of site material and components
  • Provide technical guidance to suppliers toward assuring product / process compliance with engineering drawings and specifications
  • Work closely with commercial Sourcing, Business teams, and Engineering to eliminate roadblocks and communication barriers that may affect quality requirements
  • Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a sourcing, engineering, supply chain or other professional work environment

  • Ability and Willingness to travel (25%) of the time, as required
  • Additional Eligibility Qualifications: GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.
    Desired Characteristics:
  • Power Generation Accessories (MSD) Sourcing or Engineering experience
  • Working knowledge of enclosure fabrication including electrical, environmental control and safety systems
  • Working knowledge of electrical theory
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work in a cross functional team environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Six Sigma Green Belt Certified or equivalent quality certification
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001
  • Familiarity with the interpretation of engineering drawings / specifications and manufacturing process evaluation
  • Quality control experience
  • GE Operations Management Leadership Program (OMLP) Graduate
