Role Summary/Purpose: The Senior Engineer / Technologist will combine GE’s latest solar inverter products with other components to produce a system that meets requirements for utility scale renewable energy applications.
Essential Responsibilities: As the Senior Engineer / Technologist, you will:


  • Act as the main technical interface with customers at all stages of a project to ensure power and control equipment is clearly defined, designed and commissioned to the contractual requirements
  • Through good understanding of the customer’s application and GE’s inverter products, bring additional value to the customer and/or optimize the offering while still meeting the customer requirements
  • Work closely with the project manager to schedule engineering deliverables and manage engineering costs according to the overall project plan
  • Assign engineering tasks, monitor progress, and make strategic technical decisions for large multi-million dollar projects; tasks are either assigned to individual engineers allocated to the project or to functional managers who in turn allocate the work to their direct reports
  • Act as the technical interface between the customer and the design engineers, the project engineer will be responsible for conveying customer requirements to the engineering team
  • Write detailed technical specification for purchased equipment, which could include power equipment such as transformers, motors, MCCs, or automation
  • Provide support to the field engineering team for technical assistance during project start up and commissioning
  • Work with the sales and application engineering team to review potential customers’ requirements and propose detailed technical solutions and assess technical risks for potential projects
  • Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 5 years of working experience in engineering
  • Additional Eligibility Qualifications: GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.
