| Role Summary/Purpose: | The Municipal BD Leader role has been created to provide the focus, vision and leadership required to develop and grow GE Water & Process Technologies’ Municipal business within India. This key role will enable the business to achieve consistent double digit profitable growth in the Municipal segment by influencing & shaping municipal water policy, positioning advanced technology and establishing relationships and partnerships with consultants, EPC’s and O&M service providers in this segment |
| Essential Responsibilities: | - Lead efforts to understand the value chain and map the Municipal market ecosystem including Consultants (Pan-India, Global, Local), Technical Experts, Engineering Procurement and Construction Companies (EPC’s), Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM’s), Policy Makers/Influencers, and Government ministries/Urban Local Bodies (ULB’s) - Lead efforts to understand how policies are made/framed and how are they transformed into legislation/regulation - Influence policy/regulation to drive more stringent standards for drinking water and wastewater that favor the use of membrane filtration and other advanced technology - Understand budget source, their relationship with decision makers and plan/non-plan expenditures - Identify and qualify selected partners who GE can work with to execute projects - Position membrane filtration technology with consultants and policy makers by leveraging GE’s global expertise and references. - Create pipeline of municipal projects that are biased towards the use of membrane filtration technology particularly for industrial reuse |
| Qualifications/Requirements: | - BE/M.Sc. degree in engineering/sciences - A minimum 10 years of experience in the Water Industry preferably dealing with Municipal projects - Demonstrated ability to create a vision, a strategy around this vision and drive tactical plans to execute this vision - Strong process and project management skills with ability to drive projects and meet deadlines. Large project execution and planning experience is highly desired. - Proven understanding of government processes and decision making including influencers, economic buyers and sources of finance - Proven success in developing and leveraging cross-functional and cross-business relationships - Influencing and negotiating skills and experience working across cultures. - Proven communication skills including presentations, development of technical papers and marketing documents - Fluent in English and multilingual (multiple Indian languages) |
