Role Summary/Purpose: The Aero-Mechanical Engineer – Test Rig Design will be responsible for the aero design and implementation of new test rigs and validation systems.
Essential Responsibilities: In addition you will:

  • Provide Aero / CFD designs of test rigs for C&DT
  • Improve design and test processes for CDT and across Combustion & Emissions technology teams; strive for consistency within all areas of testing
  • Provide technical mentoring & leadership to Component & Development Test Engineers and Specialists
  • Provide guidance for design practices and methods to C&DT engineers and specialists by collaborating with GRC and other Infrastructure engineering leaders
  • Work with C&DT Technical Leaders to define design strategy for achieving component and system design goals
  • Provide guidance on design standards and practices for reviews
  • Edit and improve C&DT Design Practices and Processes
  • Develop and protect intellectual property through support of patent disclosure actions
  • Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in design of Industrial Gas Turbine or Test hardware
  • Additional Eligibility Qualifications: GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.
    Desired Characteristics:
  • Master's Degree in Engineering or Science from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in industrial gas turbines
  • Proficient with CFD Analysis Tools
  • Lead cross functional team of engineers
  • Participate in engineering project design reviews
  • Demonstrate strong technical, interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Demonstrate technology leadership
  • Six Sigma Black belt certification or equivalent quality certification
  • Demonstrate strong technical skills
  • Laboratory and field-test experience
