Role Summary/Purpose: The Product Engineer will work on projects and activities that support current product engineering and service-only components. In this role you will utilizes their system integration, design, and problem solving skills to resolve technical issues and serves as a point of contact in Engineering for technical product questions.
Essential Responsibilities: As the product Engineer, you will:


  • Serve as the primary interface between Engineering and Service in the communication and resolution of technical questions and issues,these Engineers and Services will include:
    • Manufacturing Engineers
    • Quality Engineers
    • Production Supervisors and personnel
    • Sourcing and external suppliers
    • Service and Application Engineering
    • Engineering and Materials Lab
    • Field Service
    • Outside Remanufacturing Service Organizations

  • Solve technical issues preventing engines and engine components from attaining their expected attributes by providing rapid response to manufacturing engineers and production leaders
  • Provide technical input to new supplier development and component quality projects, managing validation tests as required
  • Solve product reliability issues by leading root cause analysis, defining both short-term and long-term corrective actions
  • Create and review engineering change requests for product improvements and provide guidance to the associated design activities
  • Participate in project technical design reviews for the development service-only components and provide input regarding current product issues to the project team
  • Perform engineering studies and calculations within the scope of assigned work
  • Work closely with technical and cross-functional personnel to develop and document technical quality processes for production and service components
  • Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited University or Technical College
  • Minimum of 1 year of mechanical engineering experience in either of the following:
    • Industrial engine design and/or development
    • Manufacturing, quality, and assembly processes, including experience working with the associated functional organizations
  • Additional Eligibility Qualifications: GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.
